Let’s talk about Cedarwood!

This month we’re focusing on oils that help bring sweet, sweet sleep and cedarwood is one of our top oils for it!
Cedarwood is a single oil derived from the bark of the Cedarwood tree. It’s considered to have natural sedative properties, um yes please! It contains cedrol, which can have asoothing affect, making falling (and staying) asleep much easier. Other uses of cedarwood are helping with hair growth, skin issues, and coughs. #gimmeallthecedarwood

How do we use it?
•Diffuse or apply 30 minutes before bedtime to encourage the body’s natural melatonin production
•Diffuse with lavender or other calming oils for heightened affect
•Add a few drops to shampoo or directly on scalp to help with hair growth
•Apply to chest to relieve cough and congestion
•Add a few drops to creams or lotions to combat skin issues

Let’s talk about Vetiver!

Vetiver is a single oil derived by the steam distillation of roots. In India it is known as the “oil of tranquility”. Vetiver has calming, grounding, and sedative properties. It
has been known to help with anxiety, depression (especially postpartum), insomnia and stress. It is considered a natural tranquilizer!! Pretty amazing, huh?!

How do we use it?
•Diffuse at bedtime (try adding lavender and cedarwood or other calming oils)
•Apply topically or add a drop to diffuser jewelry to combat anxietythroughout the day
•Apply 1 drop over heart to promote a feeling of grounding

Let’s talk about Peace and Calming!
This is a also lovingly called peace and unconsciousness, haha! 😴This oil has a cult like following and we are here to tell you why! The oils in this blend have historically been used to help reduce depression, anxiety, stress, and tension. It can be very helpful at the end of a stressful day to promote relaxation and peace or to relieve insomnia.

What’s in this incredible blend?
•Tangerine contains esters and aldehydes, which are sedating and calming to the nervous system. It is also a diuretic and a decongestant of the lymphatic system.
•Orange brings peace and happiness to the mind and body and joy to the heart, which feelings provide emotional support to help one overcome depression.
•Ylang Ylang may help balance the male-female energies so one can move closer towards focusing their thoughts, filtering out the ever-present garbage of life. It brings back feelings of self-love, confidence, joy, and peace.
•Patchouli is sedating, calming, and relaxing, allowing it to reduce anxiety.
•Blue Tansy may help cleanse the liver and calm the lymphatic system.

How do we use it?
•Diffuse before bedtime to promote relaxation
•Apply under nose, on back of neck, on back and on feet
•Add a few drops to your bathwater
•Apply to navel, feet or back of neck for insomnia
•Wear as perfume
